SPAG
Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar
SPAG is an important aspect of the Year 3 Writing Curriculum as it helps to give the children's writing structure, intonation and sense. SPAG is slightly different to other areas of learning in school, as some aspects of SPAG are taught consistently throughout school, such as when to use a capital letter and a full stop, whilst other areas of SPAG are taught specifically in one year group and progress in difficulty as the children move through school. Therefore, the links below will provide general Key Stage 1 (KS1 - Years 1 & 2) and Key Stage 2 (KS2 - Years 3, 4, 5 & 6) SPAG activities for the children to try.
We often teach KS1 activities as a revision or warm up exercise to keep the skills fresh in the children's minds, as well as teaching the Year 3 SPAG expectations which can be found below.
We hope that you find them useful!
