Spelling

By the end of Year 1, children are expected to know how to spell the following words as set out in the National Curriculum. They are called common exception words. We sometimes call them tricky words.

We follow Mrs Mactivity spelling scheme and a list of words to learn will be sent home each week. 

Spelling tests take place on Monday afternoons and new spellings for the following week will be given out at the end of each spelling session.

Please bring in your completed spelling sheets. A house-point will be given to children who we can see have practised all week.
