Welcome to Our School

We would like to warmly welcome you to the Perton First School Family.  Here, everything starts with our wonderful children, and we have designed an environment for them which nurtures their mind, body and soul to develop a happy, healthy and well-rounded citizen of the world – a child who can live and enjoy life to the full. Our curriculum is the beating heart of our school and our aim is that our children are both “interesting and interested”. We want them to be ‘interesting’ to talk to because they know a great deal about the world and ‘interested’ in finding out more.  

Our children have big ambitions and high expectations of themselves. Our children’s voices drive and shape our school , which enables every child to develop academically, emotionally, creatively, socially and physically. 

Our children are exposed to high quality experiences and learning opportunities with a large element of choice and need for independent thinking.  They are immersed in experiences with visits or off timetable days of discovery.  This strengthens the message that our curriculum is ‘built in’ and not ‘bolted on’.  We are Romans, Anglo Saxons, Egyptians, explorers, artists, athletes, musicians and scientists, morning, noon and night.  We really do ‘dive right in!’

 We are incredibly proud of our pupils who are kind, caring and have a real love of learning. We are so proud of their individual talents and their positive approach to learning coupled with their inquisitive minds. They are a credit to their parents and our school!

  • National Thank a Teacher Day is Back on 17th June 2026! The UK-wide celebration of all teaching and support staff is back. National Thank a Teacher Day will be celebrated on Wednesday 17th June 2026, and this year there is more to get involved with than ever. As always, we will be celebrating every single person who makes school life special, from Teaching Assistants and Play Team to catering staff, cleaners and our Site Supervisor who keeps things running. They all deserve that special thank you. Send a Free Limited Edition Card Want to make someone's day? Send a free limited edition e-card to a special teacher, support staff member or even a whole school team before National Thank a Teacher Day. Just visit the Thank a Teacher website to send yours. It is free, only takes a moment and can mean so much. Competitions and Prizes for Children In the lead up to National Thank a Teacher Day, there are two exciting competitions open to children, with brilliant prizes up for grabs. Writing Competition Children are invited to write a short story or poem of up to 600 words about a teacher or member of school staff who has made a difference to them. The top three winners will receive a £50 gift voucher. Drawing Competition: What Do Teachers Get Up To On Their Summer Holidays? Children are invited to get creative and draw what they imagine their teacher gets up to on their summer holidays. Entries can be hand-drawn or digital, and the top three winners receive a £50 gift voucher. Free Activity Pack for Children Looking for something fun to do at home in the run up to the big day? Download our free activity pack, packed with wordsearches, crosswords, colouring activities and more. There are tasks suitable for children of all ages, and it is a great way to get thinking about and appreciating the people who make their school days special.
